Resume Examples by Job Title

Most job seekers send out one resume and use it for all job postings. This is not a good way.

Each role has different keywords in the ATS, certifications needed, and formatting requirements. A nursing assistant resume is not an application for a position as a warehouse manager and hiring managers tell the difference in a second!

In this blog, you’ll find resume examples by job title, a free downloadable resume template for each position, and instructions on what to write for your particular career. Go to the section below that corresponds to your industry.

What Makes a Resume ATS-Friendly in 2026?

You must know about ATS (Applicant Tracking Systems) before getting into specifics of jobs. More than 50% of companies with 50+ employees rely on ATS software to examine the resumes before a human reads them.

Here is what ATS software checks:

•      Keyword match rate against the job description

•      Standard section headings: Work Experience, Skills, Education, Certifications

•      Single-column layout with no graphics, tables, or text boxes

•      Clean fonts like Arial or Calibri (no decorative typefaces)

•      File type is.docx because it passes more ATS systems than PDF

If your resume fails any of these checks. It gets filtered out before a recruiter sees it regardless of your actual qualifications.

The 6-Section Resume Structure Every Job Title Needs

Professional resume template banner with stacked resume mockups for nurses, teachers, managers, legal assistants, waitresses, and caregivers.

A strong resume always contains these six sections regardless of any profession:

SectionWhat to IncludeCommon Mistake
HeaderName, phone, email, LinkedIn, cityIncluding full address (unnecessary)
Professional Summary2–3 sentences targeting the specific roleUsing a vague objective statement
SkillsHard skills + ATS keywords from job postingListing soft skills only (e.g., ‘team player’)
Work ExperienceAchievement-based bullets with quantified resultsListing duties instead of accomplishments
CertificationsRole-specific licences and credentialsBurying certifications at the bottom
EducationDegree, institution, graduation yearIncluding GPA unless specifically requested

The most important skill for writing a resume is the achievement-based bullet. If you look at these two examples:

Weak: In charge of stock management.

Able to achieve a 18% reduction in inventory loss by conducting weekly cycle counts and improving receiving.

The strong version explains to a hiring manager what you accomplished and what that means.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a different resume for every job application?

Yes, but not a completely new one. Have one master resume which has everything contained. Create a professional summary, reorder skills and add keywords from the job description for each application This requires about 10-15 minutes per application and boost your call backs.

What is the difference between a resume and a CV?

In the U.S., a resume is a one to two page customized document. CV (curriculum vitae) is a detailed document that is typically used in academic, medical or research environments, or when applying for a job overseas. In some countries, such as the UK, Ireland and Australia, ‘CV’ is the term for a ‘resume’ as the Americans call it. Before applying, be sure to review the local convention!

How do I write a resume with no experience?

Lead with a skills section and a targeted objective. Include certifications, volunteer work, school projects, extracurricular activities, and any informal work. Quantify whatever you can. Our teenager first job resume guide and yoga instructor resume guide both show this model in detail.

Build and Score Your Resume Before You Apply

Writing the content is only half the job. Before you send any application:

•      Use the Resume Builder to build your draft from scratch

•      Run your finished resume through the Resume Score Checker to identify ATS gaps before a recruiter sees them.

Both tools are free and built for the same ATS-first approach this guide follows.

Conclusion

In 2026, the only job you can get with a generic resume is the one you do yourself. Each position comes with specific ATS keywords and certifications and formatting requirements.

Follow the job-specific guides in this library as a guide. Get the free template that’s suitable to your profession. Use the appropriate keywords for each application. Review your score before submitting.

In most cases, the difference between a resume that is ignored and one that is called is not in experience, but in structure. Repair the structure first.
